“A painting is not just a representation of a scene. It is a visual communication of my thoughts, feelings and reactions. My paintings all are a blend of realism, impressionism with a touch of abstraction. They are alive with rich color and they dance with light and texture. Painting is from my heart, but I’m mindful of the importance of practical skills, but these must be subordinate to painting from the heart. I feel very passionate about my paintings and passing some skills to my students. My approach is bold, confident and spontaneous. The shapes of my work depicts the feeling of the Saskatchewan landscape and the colorful skies of the Prairies.”
