Introducing Grace Community Church

"A Place To Belong"

Grace Community Church, formerly Shekinah Christian fellowship began its ministry in October of 1995. It was planted by Rev. and Mrs.Erwin Dyck. The name they chose for the church reflected their hearts desire for this church. Shekinah is a old Hebrew word meaning "the presence and glory of God." It was their desire, and still is our passion, that this church will be a place where people will meet God and experience His Presence.

Shalom International Christian Center Inc. was born on April 27, 1997. The fellowship was pioneered by Pastors Chiwele and Ziwa with their wives. The vision of this fellowship was to evangelize, disciple and nurture people from different ethnic backgrounds. They existed to introduce these people to spiritual, emotional and physical wholeness through Christ.

On April 15, 2002 these two Churches joined together to become one under the Name Shekinah Christian Fellowship with Pastors Emmanuel Chiwele, and Joseph Ziwa.

On September 7th, 2003 the Pastors announced to the congregation that the name would be changed from Shekinah Christian Fellowship to Grace Community Church as this name better suited us. This name was chosen by the congregation out of a list of three possible names.
