The last half-century has brought many changes and improvements. In its earlier days, the Polonia Polish Folk Dance Ensemble did not have the variety of costumes that it has now. In fact, at one time the group did not even have the red or black boots traditionally worn for Polish folk dance. The dancers made do with rubber boots, hardly a suitable replacement. But the dancers consoled themselves; at least the rubber boots had been made in Poland ! The pleasure that Polonia has taken in performing over the years has shown in their performances. During Mosaic ( Regina 's three day multicultural festival), the dance group is the featured entertainment at the Wisla Polska Pavilion. They have also performed for various Polish celebrations at St. Anthony's Hall , Canada Day Celebrations, Regina Octoberfest (1978), the Prairie Lily Folk Ballet, (1980). Their pleasure in performing has shown on tours throughout Saskatchewan even when it meant certain inconveniences - like changing costumes in the middle of a wheat field!

Other performances have included: the Dickinson Ethnic Festival in North Dakota , U.S. (1986 & 1987), Saskatoon , Saskatchewan Polish Pavilion during Folkfest (1989 & 1990), Mid-Continental Polish Festival in Manitoba (1991), and numerous performances in Winnipeg for Folkarama, and other Polish related functions. Polonia performed for Dance Saskatchewan 's " Dance Production '92" for the Western Canadian Ballroom Dance Championships. In 1994, Polonia participated at a fundraiser for Gravelbourg , Saskatchewan 's historic cathedral. In the same year, Polonia traveled to Edmonton , Alberta , to participate in the Polish Festival of Music and Folklore. Even though Polonia has enjoyed these many other performances, they are proud |

A particular highlight of the last decade was a trip to Poland in 1996. Polonia's senior dancers were invited to take part in the international Polish folk dance festival in Rzeszow , Poland . For two weeks the senior group attended workshops and put on performances throughout Poland . Polonia was delighted to have been part of such a gala event, which featured 33 groups from 13 countries. The Rzeszow Festival renewed Polonia's knowledge and enthusiasm for Polish folk dancing.
