Pinecone Bird Feeders

Pinecone Bird Feeders

You will need:

bullet

Large pinecones  

bullet

Peanut Butter (birds prefer chunky peanut butter)

bullet

Shortening

bullet

Cornmeal

bullet

Birdseed (optional)

bullet

String or yarn  

Wrap and tie string to the top of the pinecone.  Mix the peanut butter, shortening, cornmeal and birdseed together.  Spread this over the large pinecone.  Hand your bird feeder in a spot where you can watch the birds eat.  

Playdough

You will need:

bullet

2 cups flour

bullet

4 teaspoons cream of tartar

bullet

1 cup salt

bullet

1 ½ to 2 cups boiling water

bullet

3-4 Tablespoons vegetable oil

bullet

Food Coloring  

Make sure you have an adult to help you.  Add oil and food coloring to boiling water.  Combine remaining ingredients and mix well.  As you knead it (squish it with your hands), the dough will get smoother.  Store in an airtight container.
