Regina NAD Celebrations Inc. invites you to join in the celebration of National Aboriginal Day on June 21st.
The former Governor-General Romeo LeBlanc declared that every June 21st would be known as National Aboriginal Day, in recognition of all the contributions Aboriginal people have made all across Canada.
NAD is a time for all Canadians to join together, have some fun, learn about Aboriginal culture – including Inuit, Métis and First Nations – and celebrate the diversity that makes Canada a cultural mosaic. NAD is celebrated on June 21 because this day is the summer solstice, the first day of summer and the longest day of the year, and has special cultural significance for many Aboriginal peoples.
The Regina NAD Celebrations Inc. is a non-profit organization made up of dedicated volunteers from various federal and provincial government departments, businesses and non-profit organizations and the Regina Aboriginal community. We are responsible for organizing the NAD celebration in Regina.
We invite all facets of the community to participate in the Wascana Park, National Aboriginal Day Celebrations.
