Professional Development Bursaries

 

The Fund

 The Regina Therapeutic Recreation Association has been committed to providing professional development, education, and support to the Association’s members.  As a result of support for the Association and through a variety of programs and projects, the Association’s members will continue to benefit through the creation of the Regina Therapeutic Recreation Association’s Professional Development Fund.

 

Purpose

 To allow Regina Therapeutic Recreation Association members the opportunity to seek professional development and/or education through the support of the Association.

 

Qualifying Criteria

 The Regina Therapeutic Recreation Association’s Professional Development Bursaries will be available to all Regina Therapeutic Recreation Association members.  Application consideration for the Bursaries’ program will be evaluated based on the following:

  1. Applicant must be in good membership standing with the Regina Therapeutic Recreation Association.
  2. Applicant must complete a written application form and may be asked to appear before the  Professional Development Bursaries Committee for an interview.
  3. Preference may be given to applicants who demonstrate relevance and pertinence of the described program as to the applicant’s personal and professional development in the Recreation Therapy field and/or present employment.  The described program’s broker, and/or affiliation may be evaluated as to application consideration.
  4. Preference may be given to those applicants who have not received or who have had limited financial assistance through the Regina Therapeutic Recreation Association’s Professional Development Bursaries Fund.              **Note:  This fund is not to be used to reimburse employers, or wages lost by applicants.
  5. Proof of the intended use of the award must be provided upon application and monies will have to be refunded if not expanded in the agreed to manner.
  6. It is the desire of the Professional Development Bursaries Committee that the recipient return to an agreed to meeting of the Regina Therapeutic Recreation Association’s General Membership to present and share newly acquired skills and knowledge.
