The Uplands Community Centre Project Inc. is very pleased to offer the Uplands Youth Merit Award.

The amount of $500.00 and is given in recognition of the outstanding contribution made by a young person to home, school and community. This award of merit is to be used at the discretion of the recipient in any matter that will best further his/her aims and goals. One finalist will be chosen from the applicants and the award will be presented at the annual Uplands Community Association volunteer appreciation banquet.

To be eligible for this award applicants must be in the last 2 years of high school or it's equivalent. The applicant must not have reached the age of 21 prior to July of that year. Also the applicant or his or her family must be a member of the Upland's Community Association. Applications will need to be accompanied by 2 letters of reference from adult’s representing 2 different sources.

The applicant must demonstrate the following:
1. Service
2. Dependability
3. Leadership
4. Clear Sense of Purpose

Please watch for applications in your high school, as the deadline for entry is February 28, 2010.
