Program Registration Procedure
Community Centre doors will be opened at 6:30pm and numbered tickets will be handed out at that time. It will be on a first come first serve basis. Numbers will be called out numerically, starting at 7:00pm sharp. Waiting room and coffee are provided in the Multi-purpose room. Registration forms will be available prior to opening.
Refund Policy
Refunds will be granted in full for programs only if requested 2 weeks before the program begins. Classes 4 weeks or more in duration will be granted a pro-rated refund if requested before the second week with a $5.00 penalty attached. Persons wishing refunds outside these limits and those who want a refund after a one day or one weekend course must request a refund in writing addressed to the Treasurer. These requests will be reviewed by the executive of the community association and granted only in extraordinary circumstances. Craft supplies for missed programs must be picked up one week after the program from the co-ordinator or they become the property of the association.
The skating programs will take the beginner skater from learning to stand and walk on skates to feeling comfortable on the ice. The skater who knows some skating techniques will get instruction to improve them. The instruction is with the use of games and fun.
The program concentrates on the basic skills of skating including balance, skating forwards and backwards, starts, stops, and turns. Some North Zone skating instructors are: Sherry, Catherine, Melissa, Nicole, and Trisha.
Helmets and mitts are mandatory.
An in-person registration will be held on:
Parent-Tot Skate (tots 2+ yrs)
An instructor will guide the activities. An adult MUST accompany each tot skater.
Skating for 3½–5 yrs
Skating for 4–5 yrs
Skating Skills (5–7 yrs)
* 5-yr-old skaters must be able to skate the length of the ice away from the boards *
Skating Skills (7–12 yrs)
Gymnastics 3–4 years
Learn gymnastics skills, rhythmic gymnastics, and tumbling. No jeans please.
Gymnastics 5–7 years
Learn gymnastics skills, rhythmic gymnastics, and tumbling. No jeans please.
Gymnastics 8–13 years
Learn gymnastics skills, rhythmic gymnastics, and tumbling. No jeans please.
Introduction to Music I (3–5 years)
Introduction to beat and rhythm using songs and games.
Introduction to Music II (5–7 years)
Introducing notes and music melody with basic theory.
Beginner Ukelele for the whole family (6+)
Have fun and learn to play your favorite tunes! Learn basic strum patterns and chords. This class is for those with no ukelele experience. Bring ukelele and tuner to first class.
Classes for 3- & 4-year-olds

Registration night for 2020/2021 playschool will be on Monday, April 6, 2020 from 7–8pm at the Uplands Community Centre (20 Weekes Crescent).
We offer classes for 3-year-olds and 4-year-olds. Our two locations are at the Jack Staples Arena and the Jack Hamilton Arena.

Chair Yoga
Chair yoga is a form of yoga practiced sitting on a chair or standing using a chair for support.
20 Cardio/20 Strength/20 Stretch
This fitness class combines 20 minutes of cardio, with 20 minutes of strength training, followed by 20 minutes of flexibility and stretching. Suitable for all Fitness levels.
Yoga for Valentine's Day
For lovers and friends. You will benefit from a stronger and more flexible body, a deeper connection with your partner and have some fun! As you practice you will pay close attention to your partner’s body as well as your own. Synchronized breath and eye contact and smiles can add a lot to this practice. Develop signals like squeezing or tapping once for more and twice for enough. Special 1.5 hr class. His and her matching yoga bracelets included in cost.. Bring your own mats.
Mixed Curling
Scheduled start times of 5:30 or 6:40. Individual curlers or full teams are invited to play. Cost is $80 per team includes two 4-end games, midnight lunch, and a great prize guaranteed for every curler. All skill levels welcome.
