Charlene Douglas
Charlene is inspired by the dramatic colour of nature‘s endless beauty; Saskatchewan’s spectacular sunsets and dramatic clouds, prairie scenes, and the vibrant colour of both Saskatchewan flowers and exotic flowers which she photographs while traveling, then paints in her studio.
She studied oil painting at community college in Moose Jaw and continued learning
independently. She has taught private oil painting lessons as well as guided students
of various grade levels through painting at Lindale school.
Some of her works can
be viewed in the collections of Athabasca Financial, C & S Builders, Church of our
Lady Roman Catholic Church in Moose Jaw, as well as Saskatchewan Conexus Credit Unions
across Saskatchewan. She has also been commissioned for private collections. Her
works have been shown at Moose Jaw Art Gallery, Moose Jaw Cultural Center, Government
House, Art Gallery of Regina and University of Regina.
Charlene was born and raised
in Saskatchewan and lives in Moose Jaw where she and her husband Dave raised their
three sons.
