In the past, no financial
support has been provided by the S.L.A. for provincial teams to attend national
championships.
As a result, the number of
provincial teams attending national championships has not been satisfactory. Provincial
teams have not been formed and club teams have attended regional competitions.
National Championships
tournaments provide athletes with an opportunity to play at an elite level of Lacrosse,
thereby, challenging them to develop. As well, it gives our athletes an opportunity to
travel across Canada.
The financial committee has
recognized that the Saskatchewan Lacrosse Association should take a proactive role in
trying to increase Saskatchewan's representation at National tournaments.
