Inter-Lacrosse To Lacrosse Players in All Sectors: Interested in playing on a National team? The FIIC, the World governing body for Inter-Crosse, recently finalized preparations for the 2005 World Championships. The 2005 FIIC World Championships for Men and for Women will be held in Prague. Games will be played from March 31st to April 3rd. In 2003, and again in 2004, many of the players on both the National Womens Team and the Nation Mens Team had never played Inter-Crosse prior to the tournament, yet in both years, Canada made it to the finals. Many people are familiar with the World Games in Inter-Crosse, where both men and women play on the same team. However, in the last 3 years, a second version of competition emerged. The World Cup was created for national teams could compete against one another in a more competitive type of contest. Interested participants will be expected to get together a couple of days before leaving for Prague, in order to run a few practices and organize equipment, etc. All costs are shared amongst the team on an equal basis. We will require a minimum of 10 men and 10 women if we are to enter teams. The deadline for entry will be January 15th, at which time we will finalize our plans for entering competition. If you are interested, please reply with a brief outline of your lacrosse experience. Further to this, the 2006 FIIC World Inter-Crosse Championships will be held in April in Hungary. Anyone interested in playing, coaching or managing on the Mens or Womens national team should apply before March 1st. Reply to: Jim Price (905) 886-3426 or fieldref@rogers.com

EYE PROTECTION: There has been some discussion concerning eye protection in more competitive Inter-lacrosse leagues. This is a non-contact sport, but aggressive play must be the responsibility of the participants to play "IN CONTROL". Eye protection is not mandatory, but is recommended. Non- prescription sport eyewear can be purchased at most sporting goods stores ranging anywhere from $25 to $50. If you are interested in prescription sport eye wear contact Ryan Horne @ 352-7926. WE NEED YOUR HELP: We are in need of volunteer bench supervisor for all youth division teams during each game. The supervisor would ensure equal floor time for all participants and player conduct. No experience necessary. If you are interested, please contact Shelley Willey or Sean Peberdy. MINOR OFFICIALS NEEDED: No experience necessary. Minor officials are paid $8/game for his or her time. Please contact Chad Fenrick if you are interested in becoming a minor official.
