Healthy Horizons was organized by a group of committed individuals concerned with all aspects of health care. It is a registered, non profit, volunteer, educational organization. Through conferences, seminars, public meetings and a quarterly journal, Healthy Horizons hopes to encourage individuals to take responsibility for their own health and well being, to investigate all methods of healing and to be aware of the hazards of the many chemicals in our food, water, air and soil. 

For optimum health there must be a mental, physical and spiritual balance. 

Some of the basic guidelines and philosophy of Healthy Horizons include: 

• Health is not the responsibility of the doctor, the government or society, it is a personal responsibility, only you have control over your own body,
• Education not medication is the key to health. Possibly the greatest health hazard in North America today is excessive medication at all age levels.
• Freedom of choice in all matters of health care. It is a basic fundamental right.
• Promotion of natural therapies that compliment the bodies own healing power.
• Prevention of disease is vital. An informed public will make intelligent decisions to maintain body balance.
• Good health and many friends are our greatest individual assets.
• Health and vitality are gifts of nature to those who live according to its laws.
• Complementary medicine has become mainstream in North America, it is the wave of the future. Individuals are seeking safe, effective therapies.

Successive Boards of Directors since 1976 have not lost sight of the vision and mandate of Healthy Horizons founding society. We have recently entered a new millennium, what better time to give health its proper priority, address and correct the many problems of health care delivery!

Hopefully by education and co-operation we can enhance the health and well being of all residents of this great country.
