She loves painting nature, portraits and figures in oil, acrylic, and watercolor. Sometimes the subjects are placed in illusionary or surreal settings. Combining the modern techniques with traditional sensitivities (both the traditional & experimental methods), her paintings invite the art lovers to search for deeper meanings, while at the same time pleasing the eye with depth of color and imaginative composition. Presently, Mai Ly is an active member of Art Gallery of Regina, the Regina Federation of Atists' and the Heartland Artists' guilds.
